Chris Bonde is from Edmonton.
Chris started his ring career fighting Full Contact (above the waist kicking) and Low Kick Kickboxing. During this time, Chris fought Mike Miles athlete Jason Taylor under kickboxing rules and lost. In early 2001 (exact dates coming) Chris and his organization became involved with Mike Miles and his organization. This lasted for several years.
Mike Miles started teaching Chris and his organization about MuayThai.
As Chris was learning about MuayThai through Mike Miles, he was still competing under Low Kick Kickboxing rules. At the 2001 Canadian MuayThai/Kickboxing Golden Gloves, Chris entered under Kickboxing rules. As that tournament progressed, Chris ended up squaring up with several athletes who trained in Calgary under Mike Miles. Both of these athletes were novices and Chris ended up defeating both athletes and advancing to the finals, winning the 2001 Canadian Golden Kickboxing rules gloves. After the event Chris mentioned to Mike Miles he wanted to learn to become a coach to his own athletes.
"At the 2001 Canadian MuayThai/Kickboxing Golden Gloves, it was bittersweet as Chris asked me to corner him (as did my business partner Keith Crawford suggested I do). Chris fought and won the title beating 2 of my own novice athletes. Was strange working against my other athletes. Both were awesome prospects and I lost them after those bouts. I really wanted to remain neutral on any bouts where my athletes would face other athletes involved in my organization. But I honored Chris's request and Keith's suggestion and cornered Chris. The consequence for me was... I regretted losing those two athletes. They had great potential." Mike Miles
A few years later, Chris and his company later left the Mike Miles organization.
